Bobby Gallagher holds the second trumpet position of the Jacksonville Symphony.

Originally from South Florida, Gallagher earned an artist diploma, masters and bachelors of music in trumpet performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where he studied with Craig Morris. Before moving to Jacksonville, Bobby served as second trumpet of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra. He has enjoyed summers at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Festival Napa Valley and the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale. Passionate about education, Gallagher has presented masterclasses in settings from public high schools to major university music schools. In Miami, and now Jacksonville, Bobby has maintained a small private studio.

Teaching philosophy

By combining positive mindset with critical analysis and problem solving, I believe any committed student can achieve their goals on their instrument. To me, talent is not the word to focus on, but perseverance and commitment to methodical practice. These will take any person very far!
